Firgorífico General Pico S.A. is a family company of national capitals with vast experience in the meat industry. It is a medium sized Plant, in the process of expansion.
Frigorífico General Pico has two production plants located in the cities of General Pico (Plant Nr 2531) and Trenel (Plant Nr 2792) both located in the middle of the so-called Humid Pampa in the BEST PRODUCTIVE ZONE OF LIVESTOCK in the country which is the largest reservoir in the world of the best British beef breeds Hereford and Aberdeen Angus.

Sus propietarios son 7ª Generación en la industria cárnica, las últimas tres de ellas en la Argentina, previamente en Alemania.

Its owners are 7th Generation in the meat industry, the last three of them in Argentina, previously in Germany.

In Argentina, they have more than 65 years of experience in the development of local and international markets.

It is a medium-sized company in the process of expansion dedicated to the production of beef, offal and by-products and to the development of national and worldwide markets.

Its objective is to LEAD local and international markets as a supplier of HIGH QUALITY BEEF through an EXCLUSIVELY and RELIABLE SELECTION protocol, guaranteeing a unique stability and generating a COMMITMENT OF TRUST with the consumer unprecedented in the Argentinean industry.

Frigorífico General Pico provides safe proteins to different local and worldwide consumers, responding to their demands, needs and tastes, according to the regulations imposed by the competent authorities.

All products are produced in its two official plants authorized by SENASA No. 2531 and No. 2792 in the locations of General Pico and Trenel, Province of La Pampa.

Company Background History

From the Beginning

  • 1981

    Frigorífico General Pico begins its activities in the city of General Pico in La Pampa Province.

  • 2004

    The current owners acquire the slaughterhouse to its original proprietors.

  • 2011

    In March Frigorífico General Pico organizes the World's Largest Barbecued Beef, still Guinness Record (13,713 kg of meat, 80 roasters, 948 ribs).

  • 2013

    The company initiates a strategic plan to increase volumes and improve efficiency to reach new international markets.

  • 2015

    The company starts to supply high quality beef to restaurants and hotels in Argentina and abroad.

  • 2017

    Consolidation of an exclusive classification and segmentation system.
    Institutional and commercial synergies management.
    Increase in niches of greater added value with the objective of repositioning Argentine and Pampas meat in national and international markets.

  • 2018

    Launch of the new brand OHRA PAMPA: the first Argentine beef brand to carry out an EXCLUSIVE RELIABLE SELECTION of the meat in order to guarantee an unique quality stability, generating a RELIABILITY with the consumer without precedents in the market.

  • 2019

    Acquisition of a new Beef Plant in the city of Trenel also in La Pampa at 30 km from General Pico to increase production and reach new markets.
